Endorse a Check-in
As a watcher, you validate builder check-ins by staking your endorsement. This guide explains the process.
Prerequisites
- A Solana wallet with $SHIP staked (minimum 100 SHIP)
- Connected to ShipLock
Finding Check-ins to Endorse
- Browse the Projects page
- Look for projects with Pending check-ins
- Click into a project to see the latest check-in details
Reviewing Evidence
Before endorsing, review the check-in's evidence:
- Title — What milestone was claimed
- Summary — What was actually shipped
- Proof links — Demos, commits, deployments
- Evidence — Screenshots, videos, build logs
Only endorse if you genuinely believe the milestone was delivered.
Endorsing
- Click the Endorse button on a pending check-in
- The Endorse Modal shows:
- Your stake and effective weight
- Current progress toward threshold
- Time remaining in the endorse window
- Other endorsers
- Click Confirm Endorse
- Sign the transaction
Weight Calculation
Your endorsement weight is sqrt(your_stake):
- 100 SHIP staked = 10.0 weight
- 1,000 SHIP staked = 31.6 weight
- 10,000 SHIP staked = 100.0 weight
Earning Rewards
You earn rewards when:
- The check-in you endorsed is accepted (threshold reached)
- You were in the valid endorsement set (top 25 by weight)
Rewards are distributed from the protocol fee pool and slash distributions.
